Okay, you're 17 and mad at your parents. They are crime-fighting superheros and they've always been disappointed in you because you've never developed any special abilities. So, just to get back at them, you spend a couple of months consorting with the Destructor, the ultimate crime lord and their arch-enemy. Didn't really help the relationship with the parental units.
That was 8 years ago. You set out on your own, graduated from college and became a CPA, but things still aren't warm and fuzzy with the parents. You get kidnapped on about a yearly basis by the latest hotshot criminal trying to force a confrontation with mom and dad, but you know if the choice came down to you or the city they'd save the city every time.
But now the Destructor is finally coming up for trial. You get assigned to do the forensic accounting to put him away, but your juvenile record gets unsealed and everyone now knows you willingly joined him when you were a teenager. Your credibility is challenged and your life falls apart. Your hope of redemption lies in examining the clues others aren't looking at, because their minds are already made up on who is responsible for the latest attacks on Commerce City.
